LET US KNOW FEW THINGS ABOUT RAINWATER HARVESTING ( R W H ) : Rainwater Harvesting is accumulating and storing of Rainwater for reuse. Rainwater collected from the roofs of houses, factories, institutions can make an important contribution to the availability of water for drinking and other purpose. It can supplement the subsoil water level by refilling aquifers in a process called Ground water recharging. Rainwater can be harvested using roof & other above ground catchments and stored in tanks for reuse. The roof catchment is connected with a gutter and downpipes system to deliver rainwater to the storage tank. The quality of rainwater is directly related to the cleanliness of catchments, gutters, storage tanks and filters. Rooftop catchment surfaces collect dust, organic matter, leaves and bird droppings which can contaminate the stored water and cause sediment build up in the tank. Care should be taken in proper installation of Rainwater harvesting system and storage. A proper inlet Filter should be placed in line with the down pipes to prevent leaves and other debris from entering storage's. Looking at the need for a good RWH filter THE FARMLAND RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEMS has innovated a first of its kind Filter called 'RAINY'
METHODS OF RAINWATER HARVESTING : 1. ROOFTOP RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR REUTILIZATION. 2. ROOFTOP RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR BORE WELL RECHARGING. 3. SURFACE RUN-OFF RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR GROUND WATER RECHARGING BY RECHARGING WELL/PIT. 4. RAINWATER HARVESTING BY INJECTION WELL METHOD OF RECHARGING DEEPER AQUIFER.
1. ROOFTOP RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR REUTILIZATION.
Connect all the Rain water outlet pipes from Roof top at appropriate positions and bring down to Inlet of Filter which will be wall mounted at a nearest point of usage, then connect the filter outlet to your suitable option.
OPTION 1: Filtered rain water can be stored in existing or new tank for re-utilization purpose - Can fulfill water needs up to 40%, reducing the Water Bills and dependency on Municipal water. Rainwater being the purest form of water available, can be consumed for all purposes including drinking for which Boiling or RO/UV filtration can be done. OPTION 2 :ROOFTOP RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR BORE WELL RECHARGING. Filtered Rain water can be Recharged directly into Bore well by connecting to casing pipe, provided the roof area is less than 200 Sq Mtrs -- Injecting directly to your bore well aquifer helps in maintaining the Bore well water level, reduces ground water hardness, reduces fluoride content. OPTION 3: Collect the filtered water in tank for reuse, then the overflow from tank to Bore well Casing so that any excess rainwater can recharge the bore well --- reaping the maximum benefit of rainwater. 3. SURFACE RUN-OFF RAINWATER HARVESTING FOR GROUND WATER RECHARGING BY RECHARGING WELL/PIT Rainwater from other than roof top known as surface run-off water is channelized towards the down stream, the water is first allowed to pass through filtration chamber to remove all the dirt particles, then it is diverted to recharging well/pit for ground percolation. This is will benefit the shallow aquifer to get recharged and improves the saturation of soil, thereby helping the trees & plants to draw moisture during the summer. This will also benefit is reducing the urban flooding to a great extent. Ground water recharging may or may not benefit in recharging the bore wells.
4. RAINWATER HARVESTING BY INJECTION WELL METHOD OF RECHARGING DEEPER AQUIFER.
